Hit the time at any official track meet — high school, USATF, or AAU — or advance to the final at the Oklahoma State Track meet, and you're in.

Most meets are covered, but some local and regional meet entry fees are paid by families. Typical range: $15–$40 per meet, depending on the event. Travel meets (national + championship) have separate logistics — those details are shared at registration.

Cheetah is for athletes ages 8 – 18. If you're under 16, there are no tryouts — show up to a practice and you're in. If you're 16 or older, you'll qualify by hitting the standard for your event. No tryouts in the traditional sense — you earn your spot on the clock.
The standard is event-specific. See the full list of qualifying marks for sprints, distance, and hurdles. Field events and relay standards coming for the 2026 season. There are two ways to qualify: hit the standard at any official track meet (high school, USATF, or AAU), OR advance to the final of your event at the Oklahoma State Track meet (no time needed). Yes. Need-based scholarships are funded by our sponsors and kept open to any Oklahoma family that wants to be part of the program but needs help with fees. Email us — no formal application, just a conversation. We've never turned away an athlete for cost.
For the free trial and early practices: running shoes (no spikes the first day), athletic clothing, a water bottle, and a notebook. Spikes come later, once your coach assesses your event and surface needs. Cold weather? Layers. Hot weather? More water than you think.

Annual registration is non-refundable. Monthly dues can be canceled anytime; already-charged months are non-refundable.
